Week 1 1/2

Sorry for the short letter, I did not know what to write.
This week has been good. I have been teaching a lot of investigators, fake ones, which has been fun.
I am starting to worry about not having enough time to practice teaching in french. I am learning the missionary lessons in french, but i can only learn so much. reading the lessons are not the same as teaching them.
I do not know what else to say about my week. I love the MTC!
Hopefully next week i will have more to say.

Christmas at the MTC

Christmas at the MTC is Ok. Sadly enough, it does not feel like christmas; it feels like an ordinary day at the MTC. Today we had Russell M. Nelson come speak at our christmas devotional. he gave a very powerful testimony about missionary work and the atonement.Yesterday all the missionaries watched "A Christmas Carol". Tonight we are going to watch "It's a wondreful life."

Although I am away from home, I truly feel that I  appreciate the true meaning of christmas. This morning I went to my classroom and studied from my scriptures. I sang christmas songs with my fellow classmates.

The first Three Days as a Missionary

My flight to the MTC was a bit bumpy because of there was a lot of wind, but it was fun, I thouroughly enjoyed it. Although it was dark outside, the view from the plane was so beautiful. When i arrived at the Chicago airport, i saw a missionary that just finished his mission. We spoke a bit and he gave me some good advice which i hope to use in the field and at the MTC.
Before entering the MTC went to Temple Square. It was such a great experience.
The MTC is amazing. The missionaries are so friendly and everyone greets you and thanks you in different languages. On my first day at the MTC i had to do a language oral exam in french. I passed with flying colors, which means I will only be spending 4 weeks at the MTC.
My companion is from Finland and she is serving her mission in the London South Visitors Centre Mission. I am teaching her how to speak British.
I found two sisters that are serving their mission in the Canada Montreal Mission. One comes in with me and the other comes to the field in Feb.
Tomorrow i will be teaching my first investigator. I am super excited!

Setting Apart as a missionary

I arrived at the house of President Jarvis to be set apart as a missionary.

My family came to witness the event.  Before my setting apart we had family home evening with the Jarvis family.

After a short lesson and a discussion with President Jarvis,  President Jarvis and my father laid their hands upon my head an set me apart as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

I will be leaving home tomorrow afternoon.  I will enter the airport at 4 PM.
